NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- The New Orleans Saints have signed safety Pierson Prioleau. Terms of the agreement were undisclosed. Prioleau, 5-11, 188 pounds, an unrestricted free agent, is a 10-year NFL veteran. He has played with the San Francisco 49ers, Buffalo Bills, Washington Redskins and the Jacksonville Jaguars. In 2008 with the Jaguars, Prioleau played in all 16 games and started on.
OXFORD, Miss. (AP) -- Ole Miss forward Malcolm White has decided to leave the Rebel basketball team, citing personal reasons. White, a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, says he wants to complete his collegiate career closer to his family. Coach Andy Kennedy said that the university appreciated White's contributions and wished him the best in his future.
OXFORD, Miss. (AP) -- More than 45 scouts representing all 32 NFL teams flocked to the Ole Miss campus yesterday to evaluate the Rebels' top talent from this season's senior class. Twelve Ole Miss players participated, including offensive tackle Michael Oher and defensive tackle Peria Jerry, who were All-Americans for the Rebels last fall. Both are projected as possible first-round picks in April's draft.
STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) -- Mississippi State's frontcourt got some good news yesterday. Power forward Kodi Augustus said that he'll return to Mississippi State's basketball team for his junior season. Augustus, who had a late-season flourish, had been non-committal about whether he would return to State or seek a transfer.
