NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- Chris Paul scored 26 and hit three clutch free throws with 7.1 seconds left in the New Orleans Hornets' 90-86 victory over San Antonio. The Hornets will be on the road tomorrow night to play Sacramento.
OXFORD, Miss. (AP) -- The Ole Miss baseball team is preparing for a Tuesday night home game against Jackson State. LSU scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth Sunday for a 2-1 victory over the Rebels in front of 6,720 fans at Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge. It was LSU's second straight one-run victory over the Rebels, who fell 6-5 Saturday. Ole Miss (16-8) has dropped into third place in the SEC West.
STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) -- Mississippi State is back in Starkville after beating the Arkansas Razorbacks 12-4 Sunday in the final game of a weekend road three-game series. The Bulldogs will play Mississippi Valley State on Tuesday. Mississippi State snapped a six-game losing streak in league play by salvaging the final game of Sunday's doubleheader. The Bulldogs are now 15-12 overall and 3-6 in conference play.
STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) -- Mississippi State's football team will hit the field again Tuesday for its fourth practice this spring. On Saturday, the Bulldogs held their first full-pads practice of the coach Dan Mullen era. The offense won a competitive scrimmage-type period of practice when Christian Ducre scored a touchdown from a few yards out.
