TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) -- Alabama coach Nick Saban is preparing his team for the second scrimmage of spring practice.
Saban put the Crimson Tide through mostly situational and team drills in Wednesday's practice. He said they will see even more variety in situations in Friday's scrimmage at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
That's the point where he hopes younger players will take the next step in their development. He said the more young players have to make adjustments and think on their feet, the more errors they make. That's the point where he expects the older players and team leaders to help push them through the situation.
Saban said offensive tackle Mike Johnson and tailback Mark Ingram are expected to miss the scrimmage because of injuries. The Tide is already without Roy Upchurch in the backfield.
