MERIDIAN --- Even with the troubled economy, the 2009 State Games of Mississippi had the most participants in festival history. State Games Vice President Brenda Hiatt says entries were up by about 200 athletes this year, and she says officials are very happy with this year's product.

The Games stretched over four weekends in June, with nearly 20 events being held in the Meridian city limits.
