LIVINGSTON, Ala. – After the University of West Alabama opened the fall semester on Monday, Aug. 17, the Tiger football team returned to the practice field for its second day of in-class practices. UWA continues preparations for the 2009 lid lifter at Belhaven College on Thursday, Aug. 27.
UWA Head Coach Bobby Wallace said his team still has some work to do. “We are still working out some things. We will spend the next couple of days working more on the kicking game and putting in situations for that.”
With the season opener just nine days away at H. T. Newell Field in Jackson, Miss., Wallace said he feels good about his teams work toward the game against the Blazers.
“I feel pretty comfortable in our offense and defense at this point. We only have nine days left until Belhaven. We will start game planning for them this weekend.”
Kickoff against Belhaven is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The game can be heard on FOX Sports, WSLY 104.9-FM and at athletics.uwa.edu.
