Authorities are investigating the death of a 17-year-old Canton High School senior.
Canton Public Schools public relations director Beverly Luckett confirmed the identity of the student who died Monday as Roby Harris.
Harris collapsed in gym class while playing basketball and was taken to a Jackson hospital where he died. The cause of his death hasn't been released.
Canton Public Schools superintendent Dwight Luckett issued a statement saying counselors are providing support to students.
