Kendrick McKee scored 19 points to lead Scott Central to a 60-59 overtime victory over Tchula Marshall Saturday in the Class 2A boys state championship game.

Scott Central secured its first state championship after Tchula Marshall's Rufus Head missed three free-throw attempts with 2.7 seconds remaining in the game.

Time expired as both teams scrambled for the ball after his third miss.

McKee missed a shot at the buzzer that would have won it in regulation for Scott Central.

Instead the game went into overtime tied at 52.

Kenneth Barlow, Dontal Hall and Justin Stringer added 11 points each for Scott Central, which made 23 of 41 free throws.

Tchula Marshall fought back from a 24-4 first-quarter deficit to take a 38-34 lead after three quarters.

But Marshall couldn't find its shooting touch in overtime, hitting only two baskets and converting only 3 of 10 free throws.

Nickeal Washington led Marshall with 15 points, Kentress Baker scored 12 and Wardell Turner had 10.
