A press release from East Mississippi Community College confirmed Wednesday that men's head basketball coach Clay Armstrong has been fired.
Armstrong had coached at Scooba for 8 years, serving as the head man in the Lions basketball program for the last 6.
He took over the team after the sudden death of Steve Hull in October of 2001.
The search for a new men's basketball coach at EMCC will begin immediately.
Armstrong was unavailable for comment.
