Dixon Takes SEC Honor

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) -- Mississippi State running back Anthony Dixon has been named the Southeastern Conference's offensive player of the week.
Dixon set the school record for yards rushing in a game with 252 in a 31-24 win over Kentucky on Saturday.
He scored two touchdowns, including the a game-clinching 3-yard run late in the third quarter.
The 6-foot-1, 235-pound senior from Terry, Miss., passed Jerious Norwood's previous record of 247, set against Houston in 2005, and set a school mark with 7.64 yards per carry.
Dixon's rushing total is the most in the SEC this season and the 15th best performance in league history overall. It's also the ninth best total in conference games.
