Ole Miss athletic director Pete Boone says the school is nearing an agreement on a contract extension and pay raise for head basketball coach Andy Kennedy.
In his first year in Oxford, Kennedy guided the Rebels to their first winning season since the 2000-20001 campaign and he was named the SEC coach of the year by the Associated Press.
Boone has also announced that Ole Miss and Southern Miss are close to a deal that will see the two play each other in basketball each of the next three seasons.
The meetings would take place at neutral sites like Tupelo, Jackson and Biloxi.
