LSU athletic director Skip Bertman says that Van Chancellor, the winningest coach in WNBA history, will interview for the LSU women's coaching job.
Chancellor led the Houston Comets to four championships before resigning three months ago, and is to be inducted in September into the Basketball Hall of Fame. He led the Mississippi women's team to a 439-154 record and 14 NCAA tournaments, and coached the women's Olympic basketball team.
Bertman told Louisiana Gannett News that will come to Baton Rouge, perhaps early next week, to interview for the post abruptly vacated by Pokey Chatman before this year's NCAA tournament. He says other coaches also will interview.
Bertman declined an interview Saturday with The Associated Press.
