Sebastopol High School will now begin the search for a new head football coach after apparently firing Chuck Maxie.
A story on the Scott County Times website (www.sctonline.net) claims that Maxie has been terminated from the school.
According to the report, Scott County Superintendent Frank McCurdy issued the dismissal and waited to affirm it until after Maxie had a chance to appeal. Maxie did not appeal, and the article claims his only response to being fired was saying "OK."
He and assistant coach Jason Greene were suspended from campus after a student filed a report that claimed sexual misconduct and inappropriate communication had occurred.
Coach Greene returned to campus Wednesday. Apparently, his only involvement in the investigation stemmed from the possibility that Maxie may have used Greene's cellular phone to send text messages to students.
