Reserve center Vernon Goodridge said Thursday that he is leaving the Mississippi State basketball team, becoming the fourth player who has recently announced plans to leave the squad.
Goodridge told The Clarion-Ledger that he hasn't been happy.
Goodridge, a Brooklyn native, said he'll leave Starkville on Sunday.
Goodridge said he informed coach Rick Stansbury of his plans on Tuesday. Stansbury didn't immediately return phone messages left by The Clarion-Ledger Thursday night.
Goodridge, a 6-foot-9, 225-pound sophomore, played in 29 of Mississippi State's games this season, starting 5. But he was used sparingly toward the end of the season and ended with averages of 2.3 points and 3 rebounds per game.
