Russ Sneed's 2-out, 2-run single in the third inning broke a 3-all tie and sparked second-seeded Mississippi State to a 9-4 victory over host Florida State for the regional title.
The Bulldogs are headed to the NCAA Super Regionals after ousting the Seminoles.
Mississippi State starter Josh Johnson and three relievers combined to limit the nation's top hitting team to 6 hits. Johnson, Ricky Bowen, Aaron Weatherford and Mitch Moreland teamed for 10 strikeouts as the Bulldogs overcame a 2-0 deficit and never trailed after Sneed's 2-run single keyed a 3-run third inning.
