Easley is currently batting .367 and leads the team in hits, runs scored, home runs and runs batted in. He has thrown out 28 runners caught stealing, which leads the SEC, and he has a fielding percentage of .994.
The final vote for the award will occur during the College World Series, and the winner will be announced in Wichita, Kansas on June 27. Johnny Bench will there to present the award.
Easley was already named the best collegiate player in Mississippi when he was given the Boo Ferriss trophy.
