Local Squad Headed To World Series

The East Mississippi American All-Stars are headed to the USSSA World Series in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
The eight-year-old all-star team is made up of boys from baseball leagues in Clarkdale, Dekalb, Lauderdale and Northeast Lauderdale.
They qualified for the World Series by winning the state championship last week in Clinton.
The team is trying to raise funds to go to South Carolina. A fund has been set up at Great Southern Bank in Meridian if you would like to contribute.
