One of the biggest traditions at the Neshoba County Fair is the harness racing.
It takes place Sunday through Friday afternoon at the track in the middle of the fairgrounds.
Dozens of racers from all over Mississippi take part in the annual tradition. Big crowds come out to watch the horses and their racers.
"Well, it's the only thing in the state of Mississippi like this. And people don't see harness racing in the state of Mississippi other than here. So they've learned to like it," said announcer Charlie Therell. "They've learned to come here and enjoy it and again, it's tradition. If you describe this fair in one word, it's tradition."
the races are sanctioned by the governing body for American harness racing, the U.S. Trotting Association.
