Ed Stanley Introduced as Newton Football Coach
NEWTON --- At a press conference on the Newton High School campus Wednesday, Stanley talked about his coach philosophy, and he says he is excited about the potential he sees around the Newton campus.
"You know [there are] very talented guys walking around they just need to get in the weight room."
After years of coaching larger schools like South Panola and Meridian, Stanley says he looks forward to building new relationships in a smaller community.
Newton Principal Sherrod Miller did not shy away from upping the expectations for the Tigers now that Stanley is on board.
"We automatically become contenders for the 2A state championship every year."
