A public park in Philadelphia is receiving a face lift.
Renovations are currently underway at Northside Park. Phase I is about three-quarters complete, while Phase II is just getting started.
The first phase is being built on new property that was purchased several years ago for the development of the park.
Construction on everything is expected to be complete by spring.
The upgrades will add two new four-plexes to existing softball and baseball fields. Two soccer fields will be retained, while four new ones are being built. Four new tennis courts will stand next to the four old ones, while two new lakes will be added and eventually stocked for kids-only fishing.
