Saints coach Sean Payton says he's pleased after his players went through the first day of conditioning drills at training camp on the campus of Millsaps College.

He says nearly everyone finished within their expected times. And, he says there were no major injuries to report.

However, he reports, some players did suffer minor muscle pulls -- Jon Stinchcomb, Will Smith and rookie Usama Young. Still, the coach says they're not expected to miss significant practice time.

In addition, offensive lineman Jamar Nesbit has a stomach virus and was taken to a hospital for tests. Payton says he, too, is expected to return soon.

Overall, Payton says he's very excited to get the new season started and is not worried about the heightened expectations after the Saints' surprise run to the playoffs last year.

The Saints will have 28 practices in Jackson, Mississippi, starting tomorrow and ending on August 16th before their preseason game at Cincinnati.
