The Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame welcomed five new members to its ranks Friday night.
Former Meridian Community College golf coach and nine-time Mississippi women's champion Lou Hart was one of the people inducted into the Hall in Jackson.
She was joined by Robert Bazile, Troy Ricks, George Scott and Jerry Rice.
Rice, of course, is the big name in this year's class.
He spent 20 years in the NFL and is the league's all-time leading scorer, yet he says being honored by his home state like this is one of his greatest accomplishments.
