After years of being picked at or near the bottom of the league, the University of West Alabama football team is starting to get some respect from the rest of the Gulf South Conference.
After a 6 and 5 season last year, the Tigers are picked to finish in the middle of the pack in the rugged GSC.
Entering his second year at UWA, head coach Bobby Wallace returns a number of starters plus a highly touted recruiting class.
The Tigers posted their first 6-win season since 1992 last year and are hoping to build on that success.
They open the season Thursday, August 30 at Division 1AA Samford University in Birmingham.
