Thursday night's 14-inning game against Houston not only took a toll on the Braves bench, seeing that every position player took the field. All of the Braves relief pitchers were used, as well as two starters.
But the big blow came in the 8th inning. Edgar Renteria suffered a high right ankle sprain while fielding a ground ball hit by Ty Wiggington.
The shortstop has been placed on the 15-day disabled list.
