John Scott Rattan (Montgomery Village, MD) fired a seven-under par 65 in the third round of the Pearl River Resort Classic over the 7128 yard, par 72 Azaleas Course at Dancing Rabbit GC and now stands at fourteen-under par 202.
Rattan, a former University of Tennessee golfer, holds a two stroke lead over second round co-leader Hank Kim (Jonesboro, GA), Matt Borchert (Orlando, FL) and Michael Welch (Jupiter, FL). Kim carded a 70 Saturday, while Borchert and Welch had 67 and 68 respectively.
Casey Crain (Carriere), the only golfer from Mississippi left in the field, carded a five-under par 67 Saturday and moved into a tie for fifth place with Michael Connell (Richardson, TX) and David Miller (Daphne, AL) at eleven-under par 205.
Round Four will begin at 7:30 Sunday morning with the leaders going off number one at 9:00 am.
The total purse for The Pearl River Resort Classic is $200,000 with $33,566 going to the winner.
