The Quad-County Boys & Girls Clubs’ first annual 4 the Kids event will be held May 13th & 14th at the Pearl River Resort. 4 the Kids is a collaboration among five Boys & Girls Clubs in four counties and has the distinction of benefiting over 3,000 youths and 2,500 families throughout the four county area. Sponsored by the Boys & Girls Club of Carthage/Leake County, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, the Boys & Girls Club of Neshoba County, the Boys & Girls Club of Winston County, and the Oprah Winfrey Boys and Girls Club of Kosciusko/Attala County, this two-day fun and fund-raising experience features a Football Clinic, a Dinner & Silent Auction, and a Golf Tournament.
The Football Clinic, hosted by several current and former NFL players, is Thursday, May 13th, from 4:30 – 7 PM, at the Choctaw Central High School Football Stadium. The participation fee for the Co-ed Clinic is $25 and include a clinic t-shirt and other goodies. The Clinic is open to ages 6 – 13.
The 4 the Kids Dinner & Silent Auction, Thursday, May 13th, at 7 PM at the Silver Star Casino Grand Ballroom, features guest speakers Larry Fedora, Head Football Coach at the University of Southern Mississippi, and Earnest Collins, Jr., Head Football Coach of Alcorn State University. Individual dinner tickets are $50; table sponsorships are $500.
The final 4 the Kids event is the 4 the Kids Golf Tournament on Friday, May 14th, at Mississippi’s premier Dancing Rabbit Golf Club. The golf outing, with a 9:30 AM Shotgun Start, is a Four Man (or Woman) Scramble on both Dancing Rabbit courses with plenty of hole games and prizes for any golfer’s competitive nature. The individual entry fee is $125; team fee, $500.
