LOUISVILLE, Miss --- By now Jacob Roeland must know the hallways of Nanih Waiya Attendance Center like the back of his hand, after all, the senior has known only one school since kindergarten, and he's made quite a name for himself in 13 years as a Warrior.

In recent years, Roeland has been student council president, FCA councilman, and a member of the Warriors' cross country, track, and basketball teams.

In the classroom Roeland is first in his class with a 98% average. He is headed to Southern Miss in the fall.

For Jacob's full story, check out Newscenter 11 Sports at 6 and 10.

I'm sure they picked the best of the best. It's not just about athletics or what school you are from. It's also about academic excellence and school involvement. There were only 12 spots, and I'm sure it was hard enough to pick them without people complaining about who was picked. Seems to me that they picked some pretty deserving young people. Keep it up WTOK! So nice of you to reward the outstanding seniors in our area even when you don't have to do it at all!!

Clarke County did not have a athlete recognized either. I know they are some that should have made them team. Shame on you twice

How disgraceful to not include Meridian High School with its rich history of athletics! Shame on you.
