Former walk-on Seth Adams will be the starting quarterback when Ole Miss takes the field September 1 at Memphis.
Head Coach Ed Orgeron made that announcement Friday.
Adams, who has been running with the first unit most of the preseason, was selected over last year's starter, Brent Schaeffer and redshirt freshman Michael Herrick.
Adams appeared in six games last year with significant playing time against LSU and Mississippi State.
Schaeffer showed flashes of brilliance at times, but was mainly inconsistent.
