The opening of the college football season is now just days away as Mississippi State will entertain number two LSU Thursday night at Scott Field.
It will be the season opener for major college football with ESPN set to nationally televise the SEC West division showdown.
MSU coach Sylvester Croom says the Bulldogs top receiver should be fine.
Tony Burks has been held out of practice since August 18th with a knee injury.
However, Burks is expected to get the start against LSU.
The Tigers have won the last six against Mississippi State by an average score of 42 to 13.
State's last win in the series was a 17-16 decision in 1999.
Kickoff Thursday night in Starkville is set for 7:00.
