Defensive tackle Jerrell Powe will not be permitted to play for Ole Miss this season, that word coming from the NCAA Tuesday afternoon.
The NCAA's ruling is another roadblock in a saga that started in 2005, when the All-American from Wayne County signed with Ole Miss but did not make the grades.
He was admitted to Ole Miss earlier this month and was permitted to practice football while awaiting word from the NCAA.
Powe's attorney, Don Jackson, says he'll file an appeal.
