Carlos Delgado hit a three-run homer to lead New York to a 7-1 win over the Atlanta Braves, stopping the NL East-leading Mets' losing streak at five games. Jose Reyes also homered for the Mets, who remain four games up on Philadelphia.
John Maine is 14-8 with the win. He gave up only three hits and one run in his seven sharp innings. The only run Maine allowed came in the sixth, after he loaded the bases with no outs. Maine struck out eight.
Tim Hudson fell to 15-7 with the loss. He gave up four runs on six hits in six innings.
