After a 23-point shutout of George County last Friday, the War Eagles are sporting a 16-game win streak.
They will take that record to Louisville on Friday when they face the Wildcats, who despite a loss to Starkville last week, are ranked third in Class 3A behind Franklin County and Nettleton.
The only other local Mississippi team in the polls this week is the undefeated Lamar Raiders, who are fourth in the MPSA poll.
The latest polls are also out in the Yellow Hammer State. The Alabama Sports Writers Association picked Demopolis tenth in Class 5A behind front runner St. Paul's.
Southern Choctaw didn't make the top ten in 2A this week, but they were among the teams to receive votes.
Sweet Water is the team to beat in 1A, with Linden ranked seventh.
In AISA, South Choctaw Academy is sixth, while Patrician Academy also received votes.
