The Carolina Panthers overcame a 361-yard, two-touchdown performance by Atlanta quarterback Joey Harrington and an injury to QB Jake Delhomme to defeat the Falcons 27-20.
DeShaun Foster rushed 122 yards and scored a couple of TDs to help Carolina get to 2-and-1. But the Panthers may have lost their number-one signal caller for a while. Delhomme injured his throwing arm in the third quarter and didn't return.
Atlanta is off to an 0-and-3 start under new coach Bobby Petrino.
