Alcorn State Football Coach Visits Meridian

Alcorn State football coach Jay Hopson spoke to the university's Meridin-Lauderdale alumni chapter at Faces Lounge in downtown Meridian Wednesday evening. All proceeds from the event went to the school's football program.

Fans, supporters and alumni were given the chance to meet Hopson, who just finished his first season as the Braves' head coach. He said it was great to meet and talk with the locals. He also had a chance to discuss the football offseason.

"I think there's good retention through Spring," said Hopson. "There's a good retention from the Fall, so you just hope you improve upon it every day."

Hopson's second season kicks off August 31st against Edward Waters in Lorman before facing Mississippi State in Starkville.
