GENEVA (AP) -- Lance Armstrong's name is being expunged from cycling's record books.

The sport's governing body has stripped Armstrong of his seven Tour de France titles and banned him for life following a report from the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency that accused him of leading a massive doping program on his teams.

UCI President Pat McQuaid says the federation accepted the USADA's report on Armstrong and would not appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

In Paris, Tour director Christian Prudhomme calls UCI's decision "totally logical," and says he no longer considers Armstrong the seven-time champion of the cycling's most-prestigious race.
