Bender, who began her new duties on August 13, 2012, was previously employed by the Newton Municipal School District from 2007-12 and served as girls’ assistant basketball coach for Coach Porter. Her duties included coaching high school basketball and softball, and serving as a physical education instructor. The Brad Hodge-coached squad also finished eighth in the final NJCAA poll.
Bender received an associate’s degree from ECCC in 2004 and recently earned a bachelor’s degree in Inter Disciplinary Studies at Jackson State University, where she finished in the top 10 percent of her graduating class.
