The Jackson Clarion-Ledger chose Noxubee County as their number one team for the final poll of the 2012 football season.

The 16-0 tigers edged South Panola for the top spot in the state-wide "Super 10" poll. In 2008, the Tigers edged the then state champion Meridian High School for the top spot.

South Panola beat Brandon in the 6A state championship game, finishing with a 13-2 record. However, both loses came to out-of-state foes.

You can debate all you want, but you can't debate this: Noxubee County only gave up one touchdown or less in nine of their 16 games.

Head coach tyrone shorter was voted for 4-a coach of the year.
