The Mississippi State bulldogs will face UCLA Monday night in game one of a best-of-three for the College World Series championship.

It's only fitting that for Mississippi State, a school with no team national championships, gets its first title shot at the shcool with the most.

The Bruins boast 108 championships from men and women sports combined, but perhaps its the Bulldogs who scare the Bruins. After all, state hasn't lost a game since June 2nd in regional play. Either way, head coach John Cohen relishes every moment..

"You're playing against the course itself. You're not playing against an opponent. And our kids know that and UCLA knows that," said Cohen. "Can you get your barrell in position? Can you throw the pitch where you want it to be? Can you get your feet positioned on a ground ball? None of that has anything to do with Los Angeles or Starkville. None of that has anything to do with time zones."

"I get a little patriotic in these moments because it's the greatness of our country. There are great baseball players in Southern California. There are great baseball players in the southeast. These kids are friends. They play with or against each other in the summer time. It just adds to this incredible slice of Americana here in Omaha every single year, and I just think it's a lot of fun."

The Bulldogs and Bruins will face off at 7:00 c.t. Monday night in Omaha.
