STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) -- Alex Detz had three hits, Wes Rea added two run-scoring singles and Mississippi State scored three runs in the sixth inning to push past Central Arkansas 5-3 at an NCAA regional on Friday night.
Mississippi State (44-17) trailed 2-1 in the fifth inning before Rea's second single brought home Brett Pirtle to tie the game. The Bulldogs added three more runs in the sixth on three hits.
Mississippi State's Kendall Graveman (6-5) gave up two runs over 6 1-3 innings for the win. The Bulldogs won despite four errors, including three in the fifth inning.
Central Arkansas (39-21) managed just five hits. Caleb McClanahan (10-6) took the loss, giving up five runs in 5 2-3 innings. The Bears fall to the loser's bracket, where they will face No. 3 seed Mercer in an elimination game Saturday.
Mississippi State will face No. 2 seed South Alabama on Saturday.
