Chicago White Sox first round draft pick and former East Central Community College shortstop Tim Anderson has being recognized again. This time, it's for both his athletic and academic prowess.
Anderson is the recipient of the David Rowlands award for the best male student-athlete in the NJCAA.
After graduating from hillcrest high school in tuscaloosa in 20-11, east central was the only school offer him a scholasrhip. The white sox selected him the 17th overall pick in last month's draft.
According the NJCAA web site, Anderson is already 19 games into his career with the Kannapolis Intimidators in the South Atlantic League. He holds a .320 average with six RBIs and seven stolen bases for the White Sox farm team.
