A former NFL great visited the Queen City on Wednesday night.
Rocky Bleier, who spent 12 years in the NFL with the Pittsburgh Steelers, was honored with a reception at Community Bank in Meridian. Bleier is the keynote speaker at Thursday morning's Boy Scouts "Eagle Club Recognition" breakfast. Bleir says the organization is close to his heart because he was a boy scout growing up.
"It all had to start somewhere," Bleier said. "When we are in a changing environment in a society, those basic fundamentals that we've all learned about, what it is to take care of one another and to give back to a community are all values that you learn in scouting. "
The scouting event is Thursday morning at 7:30 at MSU Meridian.
