Frazier Signs with Pirates, Will Skip Senior Year in Starkville

Pittsburgh's gain is a loss for Mississippi State.

Bulldog shortstop Adam Frazier elected to forgo his senior year in Starkville when he signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates Wednesday afternoon. The Pirates selected Frazier in the sixth round of June's MLB draft. He was a driving force behind state's run to the national championhsip finals against UCLA.

He really turned heads when he cranked out six hits in the dogs' dominating 11-6 win over Virginia in super-regional play, tying the NCAA record for hits in a tournament game.

He also lead collegiate baseball in hits with one-hundred-and-seven while carrying a .352 batting average.
