Mississippi State didn't use their rally caps, but they held on for dear life in their SEC tournament match-up with South Carolina.

The Bulldogs let a 3-0 lead slip away as the Gamecocks tied the game at three.

In the top of the ninth inning, first-baseman Wes Rea hit an RBI single to right field, giving State a 4-3 lead. In the same inning, Demarcus Henderson connected to the opposite side of the field to exted the lead to 5-3. It was Henderson's third RBI on the night.

Relief pitcher Myles Gentry was phenomenal. The freshman gave up three hits and no runs while striking out 8 batters in the game's final 5.2 innings.

Mississippi State will face Texas A&M in Thursday night's late game. The start time has not yet been announced.
