A football player at Georgia Southern University was taken to the East Georgia Regional Medical Center when a nearby tree was hit by lightning.
Yahoo Sports says the team stopped practice when lightning entered the area and gathered under a nearby pavilion.
The team's practice field is surround by trees, and when one close to the pavilion washit by lightning, a player standing near the edge felt the effects of it.
The young man was not seriously hurt and returned to his team's practice in the afternoon, though he did not participate.
