After a successful event last year, planning has already begun for the 2nd Annual LEO Run to Remember. It was announced Thursday by the local Lions Club. The run will be in Meridian Nov. 16.
Lions Club officials say they're excited about their next event.
"We've made some big changes this year, including the half-marathon course itself has changed," said race director Bonnie Earley. "The full marathon course will change minimally, just to move our finish line to a better spot."
The Lions Club has set a $25,000 fundraising goal this year. The money will be donated to the Alzheimer's Association, the Lions Club Eye Bank of Mississippi, and to Meridian and Lauderdale County high school cross country teams.
