The Meridian Community College golf team captured the 2014 Lou Hart Invitational held at Northwood Country Club Tuesday afternoon.
Trailing by two strokes after the first round, the Eagles shot the low round of the day to win by four strokes.
The tournament was originally scheduled for 36 holes but had to be shortened to 27 because of frigid temperatures. The Eagles have won two of the three MACJC tournaments held so far this spring.
Sophomore Dallas Shepard led the Eagles for the final nine holes by shooting the only under par score of the day with a two under 33. Nathan Kirkland and Ty Medling also played well by shooting 36 and 38 respectively. Rounding out the Eagle scores for Tuesday were Connor Cavin with a 40 and Austin Terrell with a 42.
MCC's Chase Tayor had a strong tournament playing as an individual by finishing with a 113 total for the 27 holes and making the All-Tournament team.
Also playing as individuals were Luther Thompson and Beau McMullen who shot 35 and 40 respectively on Tuesday.
The Eagles return to play on March 31at the MACJC tournament number 4 at Northcreek Golf Course in Southaven, MS.
