The Meridian Community College men’s soccer team added six players to its 2013 signing class Wednesday afternoon that will look to make an immediate impact next season. MCC added six players from West Lauderdale High School that will make the short trip to Meridian to continue their soccer careers.
Tyler Germany, Chris Mallette, Tyler Green, Quinton Smith, Lyle Daugherty, and Caleb Carpenter signed with MCC.
"This truly is a historical day for MCC,” said MCC head coach Alex George. “These guys have been a part of a winning tradition at West Lauderdale, and the fact that they grew up playing together and know each other so well adds so much to the dynamics of this team. It's going to be exciting. I've watched these guys all year and each one brings something special to MCC.”
West Lauderdale is coming off a phenomenal year as the Knights won the District 5-4A championship, the Class 4A South State Championship, and West Lauderdale recently finished the season as the Class 4A State Runner-Up.
