MHSAA State Softball Championships Set

The MHSAA/Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi State Fast-Pitch Softball Championships return to Ridgeland on Friday and Saturday.

Freedom Ridge Park will host the two-day event, which begins Friday morning and will crown six state champions by Saturday afternoon in the best-of-three series.

Four state champions from 2013 — Neshoba Central (Class 5A), Newton County (Class 4A), St. Patrick (Class 3A) and East Webster (Class 2A) — are back to defend their titles.

Tickets are $7 per day. All games will be streamed live on the NFHS Network’s Mississippi channel at www.misshsaa.tv .
