After claiming an important win against its arc-rival, Mississippi State hits the road to face yet another rival on Wednesday in a showdown at Alabama.

Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. CT at Coleman Coliseum in Tuscaloosa. The contest can be seen on SEC TV, with Dave Neal and Barry Booker serving as courtside commentators.

The Bulldogs (11-4, 1-1) earned a 76-72 victory against Ole Miss on Saturday, defeating the Rebels for the fifth-straight time at home and for the 15th time in the last 16 years at Humphrey Coliseum.

Roquez Johnson paced MSU with 20 points off the bench, tying a career-high. Colin Borchert added 14 points, while I.J. Ready netted 10 points to go along with his four assists.

Craig Sword recorded 15 points without making a single field goal, as he shot 15-for-18 from the free throw line. Sword also set a career-high with seven steals.

Mississippi State continues to lead the SEC in steals with 9.6 per game, also ranking 10th nationally. Alabama ranks fourth in the conference with 8.1 steals a game.

The Crimson Tide (7-8, 1-1) dropped a 66-58 decision at Georgia on Saturday. Anthony Grant’s squad opened league play with a 68-63 win against Vanderbilt after playing a difficult nonconference schedule that included matchups against UCLA, Xavier, Wichita State, and Duke.

Trevor Releford leads UA with an 18.2 scoring clip and is first in the conference in steals with 2.6 per game. Retin Obasohan averages 12.4 points for the Tide.

Alabama has won three in a row in the series and 12 out of the last 16 in Tuscaloosa. MSU hasn’t lost four-straight to UA since 1993-1995 and has started SEC play no worse than 2-1 in every season since 2007-2008.

Following Wednesday’s clash, the Bulldogs will return home to play Texas A&M on Saturday. The 12:30 p.m. tilt will be televised by SEC TV.
