STARKVILLE, Miss. - Filling the gap between the conclusion of the regular season and the start of the postseason is the announcement of awards, and on Tuesday, Mississippi State was well represented.

Both Arnett Moultrie and Dee Bost were tabbed first team All-SEC by the league coaches, while Rodney Hood made the All-Freshman team.

"All three are very deserving," MSU coach Rick Stansbury said. "These are three guys that always stay after practice to put in the extra work, and it's paid off for them."

Moultrie and Bost were also named first team All-SEC by and Blue Ribbon, while Moultrie was voted to the Basketball Writer's Association All-District team. In addition, Mississippi State is represented on the SEC Community Service team by Charles Parker.

These accolades come one day after Moultrie received the C Spire Howell Trophy, which is awarded to the top male collegiate basketball player in the state of Mississippi.

"I'm really happy for Dee and Rodney," Moultrie said. "Being All-SEC is something you definitely work for."

The Bulldogs begin play in the SEC Tournament Thursday against Georgia with Moultrie first in the league in rebounding, fourth in scoring (16.1) and second in minutes played (35.2).

Bost, a preseason All-SEC selection, is fifth in the conference in scoring (15.8), first in assists (164) and tops with 65 steals.

"It's a great honor, and it means a lot," Bost said. "To be recognized like that is special."

Hood wasted little time in making an impact. He started the first 28 games before bruising his knee in the first half against Kentucky. He's 27th in the SEC in scoring (10.5), while his 315 points rank 10th all-time in the MSU freshman record books. In addition, his 44 made 3s are tied for the fifth most all-time while his 117 attempts are fourth.

"I'm speechless," the Meridian, Miss., native said. "Wow. It's a great, great honor. I feel like I've worked really hard since I got here. It's a great honor because there are a lot of great freshmen in the SEC."
