FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) -- Marshawn Powell scored 17 points as Arkansas continued its home dominance with a 96-70 win over Mississippi State on Wednesday night. The Razorbacks improved to 12-1 at home this season, with their lone loss coming to No. 3 Syracuse. Arkansas has yet to win away from home.
HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) -- Jerrold Brooks netted 20 points as Southern Mississippi rolled over Marshall 102-46 for its largest ever Conference USA win Wednesday night. The Golden Eagles also had their largest offensive output since joining the conference and tied a school record with their 23rd consecutive home victory, a feat not accomplished since 1949-51.
SAN ANTONIO (AP) -- Tony Parker had 24 points and 13 assists, and the San Antonio Spurs rallied for a 106-102 victory over the New Orleans Hornets on Wednesday night, overcoming the absence of Tim Duncan and coach Gregg Popovich for their 15th straight win at home. Tiago Splitter added 25 points and seven rebounds for San Antonio.
NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- People familiar with the decision say the New Orleans Hornets have decided to change their name to the Pelicans next season. One person says the proposed name change and color scheme of blue, gold and red is scheduled to be announced Thursday.
